Ennichi 縁日 is a kind of Japanese festival. You know, there are many food shops in a festivals and ennichi too. The purpose of ennichi, however, is different. Ennichi is held to celebrate kami 神 in the area that held where an ennichi is held and the Japanese cherish the idea of animism. That’s why, ennchi is held at or near shrines, rice fields, and rivers.
