Colorado: Loveland Free Riding
My second camp started soon after I returned home from the Netherlands. The national team went to Colorado alongside some younger upcoming Canadian athletes for a heavy 18-day training schedule.
We started off free riding at Loveland where I was able to test out my new GS board for the first time this season. Luckily, our arrival was soon followed by some heavy snowstorms so the conditions continued to improve day to day (instead of avoiding rocks, we began avoiding people). The team spent four days here at Loveland free riding.
Loveland was the perfect bridge from the Netherlands where we only had two small hills available to us, one of which was solely used for in-gate training. Free-riding (or out-of-gate snowboarding) is important to establish a platform in which we can build on. Gate training focuses on timing and perfecting techniques.
I made this video to update my followers on what I am working on here in Colorado, as well as to dedicate to all of those who have given their lives in the name of our Country.
