Weber grills were invented back in 1952 in the workshops of Weber Brothers Metal Works in Chicago. George Stephen, frustrated with the lack of high quality grills available, created a revolutionary new grill fashioned from the halves of two metal buoys. After receiving huge success in his home town, George set off on the road with his invention with his sights set on the hardware stores of America.

Now one of the company’s signature product lines, Weber natural gas grills are sold in over 30 countries worldwide, and are well known for their affordability and durability.

Weber natural gas grills are reliable and come in a range to suit every budget and culinary skill. Whether you are looking for a small, portable grill for family dinners or a six burner grill centre for hosting large cook outs, there is a Weber grill to suit.

When choosing a new grill it is helpful to consider what you plan on using it for. Weber natural gas grills are categorised into four main ranges; the Q range, the Spirit range, the Genesis range and the Summit range. Be sure to check out the comparison on Weber spirit vs Genesis on Ace Home Guides.

The Q grill range includes a variety of smaller grills that are fully portable meaning you can grill anywhere, anytime that suits. This range includes the q100, q120, q200, q220 and the q300 series. The q100 to q220 grills are smaller, and so more suited to a smaller budget and number of mouths to feed! These grills may be compact but they are well made and feature heavy cast iron grill tops making these sturdy grillers that will last.

The Q 300 range is the next step up. Featuring a sturdy cast-aluminium frame and a larger grilling area, this range is suited for newbies and BBQ pro’s alike. The range includes the q300 and the q320, and depending on your budget and requirements you can opt for the standard features of the q300 or the enhanced features of the q320, such as a larger grilling area and warming rack.

The Spirit Range is aimed at BBQ beginners and those who don’t want to spend too much on a new grill. This range includes the e210, e310 and the e320 models.

The e210 is Weber’s entry level offering, but with a total cooking area of 458 sq inches (including warming rack) this grill is far from amateur. The e310 goes one step further with increased grill space and three steel burners. The e320 model sits at the top of the Spirit range and features the added benefit of a side burner allowing for even more grilling space.

The Genesis range is the most popular with consumers as it provides sophisticated and powerful grills for food connoisseurs whilst maintaining Weber’s competitive pricing. The range includes the e310, e320, e330, s310 and the s330.

The e310 suits those looking for a stylish grill. Available in classic black, this grill also comes equipped with all the features required for a tasty cook out including 3 steel burners and a generous 637 sq inches of cooking space. The e320 boasts a variety of mean cooking features including 3 steel burners and a side mounted burner for extra space. The e330 matches all of the e320 features but kicks things up a notch by introducing Weber’s trademarked Sear Station burner. Designed to ramp up the heat without burning, the Sear Station is perfect for high heat on demand.

The s310 and s330 models match the features of the e310 and e330 models respectively with one difference, these models are crafted in stainless steel, from the outer casing right down to the 7mm steel grilling bars.

The Summit range features Weber’s elite models. If you are a grill king or just feel like spending some serious money on a monster grill then this is the range for you. Featuring the e420, e470, e620, e670, s420, s460, s470, s620, s660 and s670 these grills provide a wide array of features and exclusive additions.

The range starts off with the e420. This grill, available only in classic black, provides 4 steel burners, steel cooking grill bars, a side burner and an LED tank scale (liquid propane model), allowing the owner to know remaining fuel level at all times. The next step up is the e470, matching the e420 spec but adding in a smoker box, sear station and a rotisserie system.

The s420 and the s470 provide a stainless steel equivalent of the e420 and e470 respectively.
