This is great. I really like the idea of breaking goals down into bite size chunks and focusing on the enjoyment of the activity rather than the end state. I’m not sure if you’ve ever read Russ Harris’ book “The Happiness Trap” but he talks about goals in a similar sense. He suggests trying to identify the value of your long term goal (value of retiring on a yacht could be relaxation, getting outdoors, spending time with people you love) and finding a ways to incorporate that value into the way you currently live your life while still pursuing your long term goal by breaking it down into smaller goals.
