I wonder if the official charge is plagiarism. Some say it wasn’t plagiarism, because the original author was given credit. However, using a piece in it’s entirety, with minor substitutions, without permission is plagarism in my book.

This is not the same thing as creating satire from a well known work wherein the effect comes from using a famous structure and massively changing the content. Song parodies such as you and Harper Thorpe write are perfect examples of this.

Since the piece in question has been taken down, it’s impossible for me to judge for myself.
