Let’s Talk About Medium Series
I just started my first Series:
Per usual, I’m flying by the seat of my pants and a quick read of the Series launch article:
I’m wondering how others are finding the experience.
Has anyone else found a longish lag time between updating their Series and the new material being accessible to readers?
How do you feel about the lack of feedback other than claps?
What’s your perspective on the anonymity of the applause?
I just discovered that you can clap multiple times. What do you make of that?
Maybe there are things you noticed that I haven’t. Let’s start a thread to give the Medium Staff some feedback on their new product.
My Feedback So Far
At first, I thought Series was kind of gimmicky. I resisted. Just why? Then I saw how others were using it — to create micro books and works over time — and decided to give it a fair shake by creating a project appropriate to its structure.
I am a fan of the graphic structure and page-turning aesthetic. What I miss is the community feeling of personal feedback and knowing who some of my readers are. (Maybe this would be a welcome feature if I was writing something troll-worthy.)
I would love to have the ability to center and adjust photos in the frame rather than have to edit their shape externally.
My biggest hope is an Android app (hi! from the other half of humanity). Updating from a laptop is cumbersome.
If I’m tagging you, it’s becasue I know you’ve done a series.
