One thing I will say for the old 3-D M logo, it was distinctive and instantly recognizable.

Medium can do whatever it wants with it’s graphics as far as I’m concerned. But, looking at the longevity of other company logos, I find it curious how ephemeral the Medium logo has been in its brief existance.

The usual approach is a gradual transformation/modernization of an existing graphic. Not the case here. It was more of a flip-flop.
