Me too. In 10th grade it was a frog and an earthworm. Next year would have been a piglet — NOPE.

10th grade dissection for me went: clam, frog, cow heart, fetal pig.

I will never eat a clam again now that I know what’s inside.

The frog was sad, but doable.

I cut my thumb on the scalpel during the cow heart. What a mess. Blood everywhere.

The fetal pig was the worst. It was so cute. I made my lab partner do the initial cutting. It seemed too cruel. But, once it no longer looked like a sleeping baby, I could face it, and it was fascinating. They say a pig’s innards are about as close to a humans as you can get.
