What do I believe? Who do I believe in? And what does that mean?

I believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, the maker of Heaven and Earth.

My God, the God of the Universe, is of three persons: Father, Spirit, Son.

I believe in a God that gives and takes away and does so out of the truest of loves.

For many, my beliefs make sense, and they agree…

However there are many who do not agree and cannot fathom how or why I believe what I do.

I understand that it can be hard to believe in an almighty power, outside of all of us and everything we know and are familiar with. But I still believe.

I know that to some people God is just an idea, and not something real. I am aware that many people do not believe in the bible and its stories and view not only Christianity, but all religion as an attempt to explain the unexplainable but that it is not truly an explanation.

I know that evolution and science has become increasingly appealing to those seeking answers that they can verify to be true.

I have seen first-hand people lose faith in God because of life events and problems that have arose in their lives.

I know that not knowing can be scary, and putting faith into something can make you feel vulnerable at first, and it isn’t easy to admit that you don’t have the ultimate say.

But I believe that God is so much more than an idea. I believe that God is real and that every story and everything that He ever did is REAL. I believe that the bible is to be treated as a nonfiction book that documents the incredible truth that took place centuries ago as opposed to a fairytale filled with metaphorical stories.

I believe that science and religion can work together, because while science can explain how things happen in this world, religion and faith provide the answer to how science is possible.

How we are able to think on our own, and to create and to live and breathe? I believe that faith gives the answers that nothing else can, the ultimate why’s and how’s.

I believe that bad things can happen to people who deserve the best in the world, and that good things can happen to those who seem to be undeserving. I believe that there is a reason for everything that happens, and that often times we don’t get the pleasure of knowing why. I believe that there is a greater plan. A plan, a design that is beyond our understanding. It has been viewed as fate, karma or the will of the universe. I believe it to be the will of God. I believe that despite our wants and comfort zone, God puts us in situations that we cannot handle and do not enjoy. I believe that God puts us through trials that can break us physically, mentally, and emotionally. However, I know that we can overcome any hardship placed before us by submitting our weaknesses to God, for his strength in return.

I believe that our God is almighty and all-knowing, and that no matter what doubt that may fill our hearts and minds, that we must put our lives and trust in his hands. I have personally struggled with this concept. I mean how can I put my trust in the hands of someone I’ve never met? I rarely put my trust in people that I do meet. How am I supposed to believe that there is something bigger than me that has a plan for my life? How do I know that this God is there for me? How do I know that this isn’t just some tall tale being preached to keep people optimistic and to not lose hope? How am I supposed to believe that this God has the best interest for me?

I put my trust in God because I have faith in Him. I know that He has a plan for me, that is in the best interest for me, because I have faith. I know that God is more than a fairytale because I have faith in him.

I have faith in God because of what He has done in my life and the lives of others throughout time.

I believe that we were meant to live in peace among each other. I believe that God intended for this world to be undivided and for all to be equal. I believe that our world was designed to exist without labels.

I believe that this idea of unification applies to all areas of life. I believe that we should not have divisions in our government, in our workplaces, in our society, in religion.

I believe that we were designed to live a life as one with everyone to glorify and honor our God.

I believe that we should live our lives in devotion to our creator, that we should actively seek a life like His. Despite our failures in sin and giving in to our temptations I truly believe that we are capable to live a life for God. I believe that if we have the proper intentions in our hearts that we are able to achieve this way of life. I believe that those who act in a Christ-like way out of the pure desire of pleasing their maker are able to live a life honorable to God, despite any sin they partake in.

I believe that I was created in the image of my maker, the almighty and all-powerful God. The God who gives and takes away and does so for the benefit of us, even though often times we do not see it that way. I believe that despite all of my doubts and lack of confidence in the course my life has taken, that I can find security in something outside of me. I believe that I can trust that I will spend eternity in heaven because I have decided to fill my mark with my maker, along with everyone who has also made that decision.

What I believe as of January 18, 2016. Will be sharing my updated version this week.
