Thank you for your response. I understand service design is getting fractured, I see it in my education. As a student this article is based purely on an opinion, no hard facts or research. I agree with many things you state that many things can look like service design until one dives deeper.

Although, I would disagree with you on one point, I think service designers could and should apply to other awards in addition to SDN Award. International Design Excellence Awards is open to all design fields and has all types of jurors from Industrial Design, Service Design, Strategists and Graphic Design. I do not think service designers need to limit themselves to one award.

Again, this is all based on the opinion of a student who is still learning and trying to understand the field. I would love to talk to you more about this.
