My examination just got over and I was watching the movie called “Kung Fu Panda”. Animated movie has always been my favorite and it’s fun to watch. I believe everyone has something to teach. After watching it I was trying to imply how one can implement the teachings in the real life and business. Especially we see articles like 5 things to learn from “X or Y” Movie, and we never think that these fun movies can give us something to learn.

Without wasting any of your time there are a couple of things that I believe any individual or organization can take away from the movie “Kung Fu Panda”.

  1. Believe in yourself
This is very important if you are looking forward to succeeding. Towards the road of success, you will find many people who will try and pull you down. But you need to ignore that and believe in yourself. Po the panda also didn’t feel that he could be the “Dragon Warrior”. But later on, when he believed in himself and by the help of his Master Shifu he did wonders in fighting the evil characters. Similar is the case with us. One needs to have full faith in their capabilities and talent and trust me keep honing your skills, it will take you to places.
  2. There is no Secret Ingredient, it’s you

There is no secret recipe or formula for success. It’s you and your hard work that will help you grow and learn. Nothing you can achieve overnight and gain mastery in. The “Dragon Scroll” that Po receives is empty, no secret, nothing was written on that. He could only see his image and he was wise enough to understand that there was no secret to success. Again quoting point number 1 that, believe in yourself

3. Inner Peace

You can fight the biggest of your enemies if you are at peace. The anger will make you feel agitated and won’t help to achieve the targets. You will only be irritated, but if you are peaceful the biggest hardships can be overcome by a calm mind, rather than being restless. Po was able to defeat “Shen” the — Peacock when he practiced Inner Peace. Indeed Master Oogway said, “Your mind is like this water, my friend. When it gets agitated, it becomes difficult to see. But if you allow it to settle, the answer becomes clear.”

4. Stay Humble
Humbleness is something which is preached by any great leader and master of their times. Even Master Shifu, tells Po to be humble. In a world where we are viewed as aging creatures we are constantly forced to prove ourselves, therefore our ego tends to catch up rather quickly. Staying humble means to know exactly your place, nothing more and nothing less, to feel that sense of humility by surpassing one’s ego and sincerely taking somebody or something as is, no judgments. It means not showcasing what you have achieved because knowing that where you stand as a human being, there is no scale to measure how great you are vs how great another is; to loose that sentiment of pride in one’s doing or accomplishments, to let your humility be your drive and your accomplishments be your impact.

5. Teamwork

The entire team with Po — Master Tigress, Master Viper, Master Monkey, Master Mantis, Master Crane, all of them had a role to play. And together, when they fought against the enemy they helped each other. They overcome the shortfalls of the other. Any organization progress because of its people, because each of them is equipped with one thing or the other. And they cover for each other and function as a “Team” to achieve the goal. Mr. Ratan Tata said, “if you have to walk fast, walk alone, but if you want to walk far, walk together”. It applies to the organization as well. If the organizations want to achieve bigger and better rewards and incentives, they need to believe in their people.

Happy Learning and Growing!
