Challenging another challenge!
For me a run (at the gym) as often as I get one (which is quite often) is not about running away from things; from issues; from some hard hitting facts. It’s about running in to them. This happens all in my head but it does take place. People tend to push away troubles or annoying and irksome situations in life. “Yeah we’ll deal with it later,” they tell themselves. Pushing them to later does not make them go away. The matters only get to mushroom some more, maybe even haunt you. You are actually empowering them by pushing them away. You’re giving them more time to gain more capacity to pull you down or stress you out with more strength. Just like a human, by just sitting aimlessly around in your head and feeding on things that satiate their appetite, these troubles just fatten themselves!
I’m not saying this may work with others but my point is, put yourselves in other challenging situations. When you do something challenging in life, your troubles do shrink away. Not saying they will disappear, you will need some magical powers to be able to make troubles vanish just like that. But those moments when you’re doing something that is making your mind tick will also get your mind to tick in to the realms of the stress and troubles. This will also give you a jolt or the courage to handle the situation.
When I push myself to limits that are beyond (sometimes way beyond) what I regularly do or manage, it gives me a kick on the back side (in the best way) to realize that no limit (that I obviously conjure up in my head) can pose as a barrier. Of course, I cannot just climb over it. There are ways and attitudes and ideas and boldness or even risks (at times) that will get me to surpass those situations. But the courage I need or the intelligence to analyse the situation honestly, all comes when I challenge myself to something tough.
These moments truly help! I’m advocating this method, only because it has helped me tremendously .. and still does!
Finding a challenge is so simple at the gym. I guess that’s why I’m such a gym freak! And hell yeah I’m superrrr fit!!
