Android brings us the next big thing in communication technology! Android, partnered with Google will be releasing their latest Smartphone model, the Samsung Galaxy S15. The phone has the unique capability of producing 3-dimensional, holographic images. Video-calling will now be a thing of the past, as users now have the ability to talk to a 3D image of the other person. Online shopping will be completely transformed for the better, with customers given the opportunity to see an up close and life-like hologram of what they can buy, before they buy it. Google Maps will give a realistic, virtual view of destinations, giving the feeling of being transported to a place without actually leaving your home. The S15 gives the user a screen-less experience as it will project whatever is on your phone’s screen, whether it is a movie or Facebook right into the air, wherever you are.

The phone is voice and touch activated, with the user having the ability to use the touch screen that is being projected as well. The projection can be small or large enough to encapsulate 180 degrees to give the user a genuine virtual reality experience. Users also have the option to use their phone’s screen as they have in the past, as projected holograms from a phone are not always a wanted feature if someone is looking for a little more privacy. The idea of projected holographic images have been around for years in

Hollywood, but science-fiction finally appears to becoming a reality, and availability of this technology soon to be widespread. Android has set the bar high for new communication technology. We expect Apple to soon follow up with their version of holographic projection as well within the next couple years. The release date for the S15 is September 17, 2024. The retail price of the new model will be $1499 with a 2-year contract.
