Don’t you think this model applies to any kind of manager?
Throughout your piece you’ve attached this model to the PM realm and made outstanding points around design, tech and business. But come to think of it, communication, organization and execution, as you defined them, are valid and necessary to every manager.
For me, the key point in this post (and in real life) is this:
“Since product managers rarely have direct authority, they must possess the necessary communication skills to manage through influence.”
Perhaps this raises questions about the word “manager” in the PM title and the significance of it in different companies with different org. settings.
