FDR told us that for democracy to work we must have good education. Socrates and Plato also recognized the value of good education — in fact they chose it as the first responsibility of government. Yet here, in the world’s richest nation, the government is cutting the education budget in order to increase that of defense. Clearly it is already too late: the uninformed must be running the government or such travesties would not occur.

We must take profiteers out of education, healthcare, and the judicial system: only informed people should govern this wonderful nation.
