A very thoughtful treatment of a delicate subject. How can we empathize with the assailant and still respect the loss of the victims and their families? You did this in the interview. Too often the cheap thrill and spectacle of a sensational crime overshadow the complicated and layered series of events leading up to the main focus of the news of the day. Too many factors left unnamed make it easy for the gawker to resort to the stereotypes of “ bad parenting” or “psychopath”. It’s never that simple. Well done.
