Haters are well, gonna hate.

Justin James Watt, overrated?

JJ Watt maybe over hyped but to say overrated is a little extreme. In JJ Watts 2015 season he had 17.5 sacks! Haters say because the Texans cannot perform, then it is at fault of JJ Watt. That conclusion is preposterous, can you imagine if the offence was stable and had a reliable quarterback!

The defense can put in 100% of work but if you expect the defense to also make defensive touchdowns as well as doing their job. So much weight is put on the Texans defensive because of JJ Watts status, but to put all the blame on the defensive is wild.

It is the job of the offensive to make plays and score touchdowns. Michael Irvin as a RECEIVER whom won three Super Bowl rings, under the one of the greatest quarterbacks Troy Aikman, while alongside Emmitt Smith, claims that it is JJ’s fault as to why the Texans do not win.

No, Michael Irvin, it is the stars’ obligation to make plays and do as much damage as they can, but the star cannot do it all on his own. Football is a team sport. Win as a team, Lose as a team.

A team’s defensive is a huge role in winning! The role of the defensive is to stop the other teams from scoring, and JJ makes that happen. It is not his fault once the ball gets in the hands of the offensive that nothing happens.

Clay Travis who host Outkick the Coverage for Fox Sports Radio, says that JJ Watt has no impact on the game’s outcome, because Vegas claims that he only adds one point to the over all. Therefore, because Vegas says so he must be overrated. Clay Travis also says that the substance of value a receiver or a defensive plays adds to a games winning percentage is irrelevant. One can argue that every person on that field is irrelevant until they work together and win together.

Just because he is the best one on the team doesn’t mean he should be the one to blame. He does his part. If most of Houston believes, Watt is the only one who seems to have any impact, then let them.

One thing that does bother me about the whole “Swatt” fad, is why can’t he catch more balls then knocking them down. I would’ve liked to see more interceptions, and less swatting.

Now that he’s out with an injury, we still see that unfortunately the Texans still need a lot of work.
