Thank you to Jessi and to each of you who took the time to share your thoughts. I realize that, for many of you, this is not an abstract issue but something you live every single day — and please know how important I consider your advice and perspective. Any successful effort to close the gender gap in tech will include you.

As I mentioned to Jessi, I’m in “learning mode” right now, and one of the most important parts of that process is listening to voices like yours. I’m grateful that there are already so many smart, committed women (and men!) working on this issue, and I’m excited to deepen my relationships with this community in the months and years to come.

You’ve given me a lot to think about, and I look forward to delving into all of the issues you raised. For now, let me just mention that I absolutely agree that it is crucial that our efforts to advance women in tech are inclusive of women of all races, backgrounds, and ages — and we will need to be especially deliberate about implementing interventions that help advance women of color.

Let’s keep this conversation going. Thank you again for all of your thoughts — and please consider me in your corner.
