A Letter to the Extremists (in conjunction with UN’s International Day for Tolerance)
Dear extremists,
You are one special kind of human breed, you know that?
First, you’re not a big fan of say, a certain person’s lifestyle or beliefs, so you voice it out. All right, no harm done. And then you make it your life goal to spread your impression of them around, making sure that your voice is not only heard and acknowledged, but doing a good job at oppressing those who get in your way. Logic???
No, I’m not applauding you for your intolerance. I’m just making a point saying that you’re great at oppressing the minorities. Sarcastically, if you couldn’t already figure out.
I get it, you have a strong foundation of your beliefs. You preach to the public and make the effort to walk the talk. But here’s where it doesn’t add up; forcing people to be in line with YOUR views, and then resorting to violence and extreme actions when the people stand for THEIR beliefs instead. How is that an acceptable culture to exist in a world that is already made up of complete flaws?! They weren’t provoking you to begin with!
The world doesn’t become you, you become. You are formed by nature and thus naturally forced into a society filled with diversity (and while you are living you are to try to fit in). That is the general rule of life. I’m sorry if you only just figure this out now, but the world doesn’t revolve around you.
I mean, why waste a lifetime being a radical bigot concerning about other people’s views and their lives when you can’t even be bothered to get yourself checked, making sure that you are well off perfect before condemning another human for being just as flawed as you? What is bothering you so much that you MUST have things YOUR way?!
Telling people what you think is right doesn’t mean it’s right. Forcing your truth down people’s throats doesn’t make it right. PUNISHING them for opposing and disagreeing with you doesn’t PROVE that you are right.
We live to compromise and making things work. Just because you can’t bend doesn’t mean the rest of us should be stubborn and rigid as you are.
I don’t know what you’re trying to achieve being a narrow-minded zealot, but my only way of intolerant living is to rid of your silly, fearful fanatics because I have zero patience for you lot. You need to get a new muse and preferably one that does not involve hate and fear as your fuel (calling out the religious extremists out there).
No one should be allowed to be subjected to harsh and authoritarian treatment, so I’m starting a movement to spread love starting now. There are three things that will last forever across situations — faith, hope, and love — but the greatest of these is love, because it can make or break all barriers in life.
Peace out.
Sincerely,
Can’t Fathom.
