For this study, I was specifically looking to test individuals who were *not* familiar with the application (or who had not used the application recently). This would allow me to focus on the “new user” segment.

Those are some solid suggestions. I can see how the filter and plus button in the top right could be confusing and may make the search area feel crowded. I’d be interested in testing out your suggestion.
