Again, in honor of “summerween”…

& of all the spooky things, here she is…
the QUEEN of science fiction (well, at least, in my opinion)..

does not consist in creating out of void, but out of chaos.”

Orthodox wisdom presents that science fiction was almost entirely written by men until the 1960s and 1970s, when feminism dominated the mainstream media; however, for quite some time men still conquered the spotlight in matters of breakthroughs in literature. There was Hugo Gernsback (born Hugo Gernsbacher)- an American inventor and publisher who was influential in establishing science fiction as a divergent work of literature. Gernsback founded Modern Electrics (later absorbed by Popular Science), the first radio enthusiast magazine, in 1908. He dubbed his genre of writing “scientifiction.” Moving on, the “Shakespeare of Science Fiction” was H.G. Wells, also known as the “Father of Science Fiction”. In 1895, Wells authored The Time Machine– a disincentive fable of social inequality. This story follows a Victorian scientist who claims to have invented a device that allows him to travel through time and has visited the year 802,701 in what was once lovely London.
