The man in D.F.R

Death! He was born to live and love,

But the gifts of faith and grace were for the living and those above.

Sand and salt danced with his bones,

His flesh sang peaceful songs of freedom in grief,

His soul ached from the misery of a life called brief,

There was beauty in his brokenness, a bitter, sweet and painless joy that flew like a dove.

His spirit struck the spears and shields of mistakes and sin,

Seeking victory in repentance and forgiveness,

And what he sought found its way in,

Digging deep into the pit of sand and salt,

To burn the armies of misguided thoughts that ravaged his hope in God’s kindness.

Forgiveness! Whispers and echoes welcomed him back to life,

Hands of grace and happiness came to heal his emotional strife.

Flowers and fish danced with his mind,

His thoughts sang a lullaby to his misunderstanding,

His visions of prosperity were outstanding,

There was beauty in his brokenness, a bitter, sweet and painless joy that flew like a dove.

His memories where filled with the lauding of his foes,

He was drenched by the rains of ignorance,

The bitter truth hurt like fractured toes,

And the pain gave birth to joy in realisation,

For a new life was his assurance.

Rebirth! He heard his voice through tears,

For he had gained the strength to conquer and ravage his fears,

Roads and rails danced with his heart,

His veins jounced from the traveling of blessed blood,

His arteries gloated from the waltzing of miracles in the red flood,

There was beauty in his brokenness, a bitter, sweet and painless joy that flew like a dove.

His organs were plagued with depression,

He was wrong to dwell in condemnation and pain,

The Lord waited and gave him salvation,

And his once bleak life breathed hope,

For all he needed was to open his eyes to a second chance.

There was beauty in his brokenness, a bitter, sweet and painless joy that flew like a dove,

Death came to live and bury brokenness in his bones,

His ignorance threw sandy and salty stones.

Forgiveness came to speak life and love to his mind,

His mind savoured the beauty of flowers and fish.

Rebirth came to bless and rain miracles,

His heart walked on roads and rails of faith.

He was a man in pain, blinded by all his mistakes waiting for death but forgiveness paid a visit gifting rebirth to bless him with salvation and a second chance.
