2nd Day of School
Dear Universe,
It’s been two whole days of school and it’s been a wild ride.
Students and teacher have met each other. Old students have visited. Bells have rung. The first day, the students made representations of themselves with Playdoh. Creativity sprung out of their pores. There was pizza, puppies, cameras and Poke-balls sculpted. Names were learned — at least, put on the learning train. The teacher promised that the class would be their favorite — as long as we all played nice. A pretty bold promise from an 8th grade teacher.
The second day was even better! The teacher ran into class, arms out wide as an airplane, crashing into the ground — simulating a crash into the ocean. Flailing her arms, the teacher pulled nine other survivors onto her imaginary raft with her, setting the stage for the Collaborative Activity of their Lifetime. When else have they seen a teacher pretend to be two people at once: a survivor and a helicopter pilot!
Let’s just say — the teacher is pumped and ready for the best year ever!
Her students are too, one even lying to come experience class twice in one day. Gotta love those teenagers.
Sincerely,
Educational Rockstar
