Wang Fu Dumplings. 65 Wellington street

This is one of the first restaurants that I visited 6 years ago when I moved to HK and its a testament to its greatness that it hasn’t changed, been forced out due to rent inflation, or changed its menu. The first time I sat down and read the menu— I was incredulous. Tomato and egg dumplings? Whaaa….? I pictured a weird western hybrid. Instead it was pure deliciousness. The tomato nicely gave flavor to the light egg. Think of the best kind of tomato and egg Northern Beijing style stir fry encapsulated in the springiness of homemade dumpling skin and mouth watering vinegar.
