100 hkd and under in Tai Hang 康記粥店
Everyone has their local, and this is mine. 康記粥店 is my favorite congee shop in Hong Kong and half a block from my apartment. It’s run by a family of 3 generations. The grandfather rolls out the Cheung fun ( fresh wrapped noodles with your choice of BBQ pork, beef, or dried shrimp inside) as well as Jai Leung ( deep fried churros wrapped in fresh noodles served with peanut or sweet BBQ sauce).
The Son and daughter in law make the congee, you can choose from over 20 combinations— my favorite is minced beef, or shredded pork with thousand year old egg.
The grandchildren usually help in the evenings when they finish school and take the money. Wash it down with a glass of ice cold soy milk.
Congee + Jai Leung + soy milk. = 35 HKD
