Fresh Wheat Bakery 美麥多飽餅屋

Hong Kong is chock full of local bakeries on every block. Some key favorites: egg tarts, small chicken pies, samosa curry beef puffs, pineapple bun, and fresh sliced white bread..

This particular bakery has wonderful buttery papillons ( butterfly cookies) as well as Paper wrapped sponge cake. The sponge cake is particularly eggy which I enjoy as a difference in taste from Maxims. Also good is the whole wheat walnut Napoleon with a savory buttery whipped cream.

Sponge cake : 4.5 hkd
Papillon cookies : 4.5 hkd
Napoleon cake : 5 hkd
