What I’m continually being shown is a different perspective. I didn’t understand Black Lives Matter at first. I was all lives matter. It took a further explanation for me to see the point. The same with removing the statues. I thought their removal won’t erase history. Then a mayor pointed out the number of African Americans that walked past those monuments to slavery and I understood. It’s not always easy to step out of your comfort zone, but ignorance and fear are the driving forces to racism and bigotry. Before you pass judgment, take a look from a different perspective
