  1. Salutation to Mary Say, “Greetings Mary, bearer of goodness. The Divine is with you. You are revered among women, and the child you carry, Jesus, is revered. Holy Mary, Divine Mother, intercede for us who err, now and in our final moments. So be it.”
  2. The Faithful’s Proclamation Say, “I trust in the Almighty Parent, creator of sky and land, and in Jesus Christ, the Sole Child of the Divine, our Guide. Conceived by the Sacred Spirit, born of Mary, endured under a governor, was executed, passed away, and was laid to rest. Journeyed to the unseen; rose anew; ascended above, and sits next to the Almighty Parent; and will return to assess everyone. I trust in the Spirit, the universal holy congregation, the fellowship of the faithful, the absolution of missteps, the rebirth of our essence, and an everlasting journey. So be it.”

  6. End with the Holy Almighty (Repeat three times) Say, “Holy Almighty, Holy Powerful One, Holy Eternal One, show kindness to us and to the entire world.”
  7. Optional Concluding Prayer Say, “Everlasting Divine, whose mercy knows no bounds and whose well of compassion is never-ending, regard us favorably and magnify Your mercy within us, so that in challenging times we may not lose hope or spirit, but with unwavering trust, we yield to Your sacred will, which is pure love and mercy.”

Our Divine Guide made several promises to Saint Faustina regarding the Divine Mercy Chaplet, as noted in her writings.

Always offer the Chaplet I’ve shown you. Those who do will find immense compassion when life ends. Clergy will suggest it to wrongdoers as their final chance for redemption. Even the most unyielding sinner, if they offer this prayer just once, will be touched by My boundless compassion.” (Recorded Thoughts, 687)

I’m pleased to fulfill the requests made through the chaplet. When those who’ve strayed offer it, their hearts will find tranquility, and their final moments will be content. Share this to comfort troubled spirits; when someone grasps the weight of their wrongs, seeing the vast despair they’ve sunk into, they shouldn’t lose hope but rather, with confidence, embrace My compassion, like a child in their mother’s arms. No one who seeks My mercy will be let down or shamed. I take special joy in someone who trusts in My kindness. Remember, when this Chaplet is spoken near someone departing, I will not be a stern Judge but a forgiving Guardian.” (Recorded Thoughts, 1541)

Another compilation is available on the compassionate fathers’ website:

  1. “Those who offer this chaplet will be cradled in My mercy throughout their lives and particularly when life ends.” (Recorded Thoughts, 754)
  2. “When those who’ve hardened their hearts offer it, I will soothe their spirits, and they’ll depart this life in peace.” (Recorded Thoughts, 1541)
  3. “Speaking this chaplet near the dying, I will act not as a judge but as a merciful Protector.” (Recorded Thoughts, 1541)
  4. “Anyone who offers it will find great mercy when life ends.” (Recorded Thoughts, 687)
  5. “Clergy will guide sinners to it as their final hope. Even the most resistant wrongdoer will be graced by My infinite mercy if they offer this prayer even once… I wish to bestow profound blessings on those who trust in My mercy.” (Recorded Thoughts, 687)
  6. “Clergy who spread the word of My mercy will be empowered; I will bless their words and reach the hearts they speak to.” (Recorded Thoughts, 1521)
  7. “The plea I cherish most is for the transformation of wrongdoers. Know, my child, such prayers are always heard and granted.” (Recorded Thoughts, 1397)
  8. “At three in the afternoon, seek My mercy, especially for wrongdoers; and even if briefly, reflect on My suffering, particularly My desolation at life’s end… I will deny nothing to a soul that asks in the name of My suffering.” (Recorded Thoughts, 1320; also see 1572)
  9. “Souls who honor My mercy… at life’s end, I will not judge them but be a Merciful Guardian.” (Recorded Thoughts, 1075)
  10. “I assure that the soul who respects this image (of Divine Mercy) will not be lost… The two beams represent Blood and Water… They emerged from the heart of My compassion when My heart was pierced on the Cross. These beams protect souls from My Father’s displeasure.” (Recorded Thoughts, 299)
  11. “I wish for the Feast of Mercy to be grandly observed on the first Sunday following Easter… The soul that seeks forgiveness and partakes in Holy Communion (in a state of grace) will find…

The Special Mercy Prayer and Its Global Journey

The Mercy Prayer is special because it was directly given by the Divine Savior. Sister Faustina felt it deep within and first prayed it during a vision where she saw an angel ready to bring justice for the world’s wrongs (Personal Notes 474–475). The next day, the Divine Savior personally guided her in this prayer, emphasizing its significance (Personal Notes 476). He also connected certain assurances with the faithful recitation of this prayer.

Initially, Sister Faustina used the Mercy Prayer in various circumstances: near those at life’s end, to call for rain, or to calm storms. In 1937, Father Sopoćko secured approval for the Mercy Prayer and arranged its publication in Kraków, both with images of the Compassionate Jesus and in a booklet titled ‘Christ, King of Compassion’. Post World War II, the prayer’s text became widely known. It was translated and shared globally through images, pamphlets, and prayer books. American Marian priests played a key role, distributing Divine Mercy materials in numerous languages and promoting them internationally.

The prayer book ‘Divine Mercy, We Trust in You’, compiled right after World War II by Father Józef Andrasz SJ (Sister Faustina’s spiritual advisor in Kraków), significantly boosted the Divine Mercy devotion as presented by Sister Faustina, including the Mercy Prayer. Initially released by Jesuits in Kraków, its English version was later circulated by Marians across the Americas, Oceania, Asia, and Africa. With endorsements from local bishops, its Spanish version reached vast audiences in Latin American nations like El Salvador, Colombia, Ecuador, Chile, Mexico, Argentina, Uruguay, Peru, and Guatemala. It also found readers in Portuguese in Brazil and in European translations in German, Italian, Spanish, and Portuguese.

Now, the Mercy Prayer is globally renowned as the key invocation for Divine Mercy, offered by believers worldwide seeking compassion for themselves and humanity. It’s also notable that this prayer was highlighted by Pope John Paul II during the dedication of the world to Divine Mercy.
