Try this instead, Starbucks: offer a large corner table, with big signs saying so, as a “We Want To Talk About Race” area. Offer free training on discussing this vital subject to any staff who wish to take part, and don’t expect them to mix up double espresso caramel soy lattes while they’re at it.

Even ask for non-Starbucks volunteers to facilitate the conversation. Lord knows the conversations need to happen, but it’s a terrible idea to try to force it.
