I am actually starting to see how very glad I am that I didn't take that on with the guy. Because what a twisted mess that becomes.

(And yes, it is sort of a sad consolation prize, but I'm still hoping, in my heart of hearts, that maybe someday we'll get a second act. And it does seem like it would be easier without all the accumulated baggage of a life spent trying to knock the demons out of each other.)
