The Walls Are Opening

The walls are closing in.

I stand dead center, pivoting, with hands feeling for a wall that is on my side. For too long, I have watched my six. My attention was had by the coming and going of a window. A window of opportunity. It framed my dreams. One minute, it seemed like I would shine through as if I found my calling— the son dialed. And the next…closed shut. Though I would come to find out that even in darkness I can see the light with my eyes closed shut. Time was never on my side. I thought it had my back but that’s all behind me now. I now know that I was always on time. I move clockwise and witness first hand the coming and opening of a door when my hand strikes twelve. I move dead ahead— the son sets. Just in time.
