Rep. Mo Brooks Insinuates That People With Chronic Illnesses Didn’t Lead Good Lives & Should Pay More For Insurance

On Monday, May 1, Rep. Mo Brooks of Alabama, a Freedom Caucus member, stated during an interview with CNN that people who had “lead good lives” and done things the “right way” should not have to pay more for insurance. Instead, he suggested that those who had not lead good lives, and had done things the wrong way (i.e. those with chronic illnesses), should have to pay more for insurance, in order to make up the difference.
