Oh, Carlos! So much of this resonated with me and so much of it finally gave words to an intuition that has been slowly bubbling to my surface for the last 20 years. Why am I surprised at the power of asking these questions?
And the Boston Tea Party comparison, the voice of African Americans being prophetic, the lack of marvel at their beautiful supernatural responses, my experience of naturally expressing anger in response to minor injustices that helps me to understand their’s, seeing racism as America’s longest-lasting crime, and imagining where each of our hands have been — has truly moved me.
I continue to listen and learn and I deeply desire to be part of the solution.
