Most people around me go “What on earth is business anthropology?!” so I wanted to take a moment to share with you what business anthropology is, what it’s not, and how it can make a positive difference in businesses from tech to pharma.
A curious outsider
When you work in a consulting company as a business anthropologist, your job is to tackle your clients’ problems and essentially, help them discover insights that they haven’t quite thought about, with the purpose of bettering their products, services, or even their internal working dynamics. It is an intimidating task because these guys are experts in their fields, and some of them have spent decades in their respective sectors.
