We invented typewriters (and later word processors) and suddenly, everyone could write a book.

We invented Super-8 and video cameras and suddenly, anyone could make a film.

We invented web pages and blogging and suddenly, everyone could publish.

We invented podcasting and suddenly, anyone could have a radio show.

Live streaming is the next step in this process. However, I ask you: what do all of these things have in common? I submit the commonality is Sturgeon’s law, which says, “90% of everything is garbage.” Those inventions gave us more good content (even some jewels!), at the cost of wading through a lot more garbage.

Are there good live streams? Undoubtedly. Are 90% of them crap? I leave that exercise to the reader.
