Whoa, whoa, whoa, I said none of what you’re accusing me of. Please take a step back. First, I’m not speaking for Bernie Sanders now, but for myself and other people who have individually come to see this neo-liberal rule as a problem. Sanders is not trying to destroy the Democratic Party — he’s trying to save it by giving it a much-needed injection of integrity. I personally don’t care about the “Party”, I care about this country and its people.

What I’m telling you is that Bernie is offering Democrats a choice: pick someone who actually cares about Democracy, or stick to the old machine that has systematically been gutting Democracy for decades. What I am saying (as an individual, not as a spokesman for Bernie) is if you guys choose to go with the status quo, your days are numbered. The amount of people who don’t believe in your party anymore are growing, whether you like it or not.

That number is not, in itself, a new party. It’s just the category of “people that aren’t cool with the status quo.” In a broad sense, that includes all the crazies on the right who think Trump is offering them some kind of New America. But that’s where the commonality stops, in that we both agree the system doesn’t work. What it should be replaced with, well that’s a whole ‘nother conversation that we, as a Democratic Society, will have to have. I’m not sure why, if you concede that the “current mess needs change” you don’t want to talk to others that agree, voice your thoughts as to how it should be fixed, etc. Where you got the idea that I want a rule by elites, I’m not sure. I’m just telling you, the people are getting pissed. If we elect a “business-as-usual” cog like Hillary Clinton, those people are not going away, and their number will grow, and you’re going to have to deal with them later, in whatever form they’ve evolved into.
