Why I dislike Markdown (A LOT)

Of all the word processing technologies out there, MARKDOWN or md is probably one of the worst out there. Why?

  • This and by far the most important- there isn’t much ‘easily digestable information out there to help with you’, every single time I use markdown, and say, try to center a text, or a bunch of images, I spend HOURS and HOURS on the web searching for information, and there are info, no doubt, there are info: for example, if you want to put a link onto an image in md readme, there is ALOT of info on that , most of which would say do something like [![]()](link), HOWEVER, there are almost NO info on resizing that image after the link has been added. and almost all the resizing sources state something like <img src… which is very different to the original syntax. THE LACK OF COMPREHENSIVE information is whats taking people hours and hours of productive time.
  • It is extremely difficult to use and unnecessary. There are weird syntaxes like ## and ** which just makes it look stupid and not user friendly.

Who ever invented this md thing needs to be prosecuted for wasting people millions and billions of man hours in productivity time. And no wonder Microsoft word is so successful you wonder.

If you are a markdown geek who spent thousands of hours learning this stuff, maybe you will find it easy and say ‘learn it or google it’, but for the average guy who is using it just to write down something (and the basic function is really just to write something like MS word), spending hours and hours is not productive.
