Introduction
I am an international student from China. I received all of my education before college in China. Chinese schools do not offer social studies curriculums. Instead, we have history, politics, and moral ethical related classes separately. Therefore, social study is a little bit unfamiliar to me. But thinking about my experiences taking these history, politics, and ethical classes, I would say it was not a good experience because the content was not attractive for me and the way my teachers taught them was not interesting at all. It impacts me a lot when dealing with similar tasks and after graduation. So, I think good teachers have the responsibilities to break all of these misunderstandings students may have such like history is boring, useless, unrelated.
Thinking about teachers I want to be, I really want to be a teacher that can engage my students and let my students realize that learning can be interesting. I believe most of us has experienced the kind of teacher who teach contents in an unattractive way. And no matter what contents I am going to teach, I want to make contents that are not that interesting attractive. I know good teachers could have the power to achieve that. Learning any content knowledge or skills at any times shouldn’t be boring and useless. Moreover, I want to be a teacher that really cares about students. I believe being a teaching is not only about teaching knowledge and skills. It is also about being a role model and educating your students just like parents do because kid spend most their time in classrooms. Letting students have the feeling of being loved, cared, believed, and supported is even more important than getting good grades.
