Sync Google Calendar with Moodle Calendar

Here’s a basic guide for syncing your college’s online education system (Moodle, in this case) into your Google Calendar, so that you’re up to speed with submission deadlines.

Step 1: Go to your Moodle page.

Step 2: Click the MONTH (or the current date) on the calendar. You’ll be redirected to a new page with a detailed view of the calendar, where you’ll find a button titled “Export Calendar”.

Step 3. Click “Export Calendar”. You’ll be presented with a list of options to choose from. (See Fig. 1 below)

Step 4: Choose an option for the duration and click “Get Calendar URL”. A URL will appear on the page. Highlight and copy it.

Step 5: Visit Google Calendar. Login with your Google account (gmail) when prompted.

Step 6. Find a drop-down titled “Other Calendars” to the left of the page.

Step 7. Click on the little arrow facing downwards (see Fig. 3)

Step 8. Select “Add by URL” in the menu that follows (See Fig. 4)

Step 9: Paste the URL copied from Moodle in the text and click “Add Calendar”. A toast will appear on the page saying the calendar was successfully added.

That’s basically all you have to do. However, in some cases your android mobile device will need a little tweaking to successfully show the events that were added with the latest sync process.
