With the USDC depeg (now repegged) on the weekend of Silicon Valley Bank closure, confidence in USDC had been understandably low recently. Coinbase, closely allied with Circle (the issuer of USDC), has rolled out some incentives to encourage the use of USDC on its platform.

Currently, Coinbase is waiving commission fees for trading USDC. Check out the purchase of USDC using my SGD deposit into Coinbase app.

As you can see, no Coinbase fee nor GST charged. You are only paying for the conversion from SGD to USDC and some spread.

This can save you a pretty sum, very attractive if you on-ramp frequently to other destinations outside of the exchange. Do consider Coinbase to trade or on-ramp USDC if you trust USDC enough.

Prefer to use Gemini exchange or GUSD instead of USDC? Check out this article for the cheapest route.
