This week’s battle mage secrets focuses on the Healed Out Ruleset.

Ruleset Details

The Healed Out ruleset disables all healing abilities, such, as Heal, Tank Heal and Triage. This restriction prevents monsters and summoners with healing powers from using them in combat. Notably the Life Leech ability remains effective under this ruleset offering players an option to regain health, but you are better off focusing your strategy elsewhere. The first approach would be to focus on monsters with high health to offset the absence of healing. Secondly, prioritizing armor becomes vital for boosting monsters’ survival chances since Repair skills can replenish armor and reduce damage from melee and ranged attacks.

Battle — Full Battle History

Line-up Details

  • Possibilus the Wise (summoner): +2 health, Trample and Reach ability to all friendly monsters.
  • Cruel Sethropod: low mana-cap tank with a great amount of health and armor to its three mana-cap.
  • Coastal Sentry: main DPS melee damage with Reach and Double Strike ability.
  • Venari Marksrat: Martyr ability monster when it perishes it will boost the stats of the adjacent monsters.
  • Torrent Fiend + Chaos Agent: low mana-cap sacrificial monsters.

Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?

This was a tough battle, and I do not think I would win if I tried the battle repeatedly. My opponent had four maxed-out monsters, which proved pivotal to overpowering my lineup. The opposition’s Uraeus was too strong at max level, and I had no answer to its poison damage. And even though I gave it a good go with Coastal Sentry, when your opposition has a maxed-out Diemonshark doing six damage with six-speed when Enraged, there is little chance of me securing victory — no matter if I was playing legendary summoners etc.

Do You Like the Healed Out Ruleset? Why or Why Not?

Personally, I like the strategic depth brought by this set of exclusion of healing abilities. You need to focus your strategy on either trying to out damage your opponent or finding ways to improve your team’s survivability. To some players, the Healed Out ruleset may seem limiting at first, but once you dig a bit further, there is an element of strategy required to navigate it successfully.
