Hearing loss can happen to anyone at any time. Nowadays 1 in 4 is getting affected by hearing severe problems and suffering from unusual hearing issues.

There are many reasons for this loss of hearing. When you visit an Audiologist in any Hearing Solutions Branch all across in India will help you out in identifying the type of hearing issues you are facing and also treats you according to your problem.

There are three basic types of hearing losses:

  • Conductive hearing loss
  • Sensorineural hearing loss
  • Mixed hearing loss

Conductive Hearing Loss

Conductive Hearing Loss can be seen when there is a problem with the Outer or Middle Ear that interferes with the passing sound to the Inner Ear. Conductive Hearing Loss is mainly due to, too much earwax, Ear Infections, a punctured eardrum, a fluid build-up, or abnormal bone growth in the Middle Ear. It is more likely to be seen in children and indigenous populations.

Sensorineural Hearing Loss

Sensorineural Hearing Loss is a hearing issue that occurs when the hearing organ, the Cochlea, or the auditory nerve is damaged which leads to inaccurate signaling of the electrical information to the brain. Sensorineural Hearing Loss is also called a permanent hearing loss.

Mixed Hearing Loss

Mixed Hearing Loss occurs when the symptoms of both Conductive Hearing Loss and Sensorineural Hearing Loss are present. The sensorineural component will be permanent, while the conductive component can either be permanent or temporary.

Single-sided deafness

Some people either born with hearing in only one ear or a person might lose hearing, in one ear during the child or as an adult. All these types are collectively called single-sided deafness. The reason for Single-sided deafness can be sensorineural or conductive, and the treatment depends on how long the person is facing the issue.

Auditory processing disorders (APD) can also be a cause of hearing problems. A person who is facing APD will be able to hear well in a quiet environment but feel difficulty in noisy environments. APD can be treated well with proper therapy by the presence of the Audiologists.
