A HUGE change.

With some wild emotions I’m moving on from Universal Mind. I’ve had the honor of working with them for more than 8 years. I’ve learned a ton and had the unique and exciting challenge of building a UX team and creating a creative culture. I’ve had the pleasure of working with some extremely talented individuals that are not only colleagues but friends. It’s been a great ride working on exciting projects like Jimi Hendrix, creating an iPad Table, to working with my good friend Francisco Inchauste creating an Innovation LAB. I’ll miss working with my colleagues but I am glad to call many of them friends.

I’ll also miss living in Grand Rapids. I’ll miss my Madcap coffee in the morning and the GR Creative Morning meet-ups. I’ll also miss the energetic crew at Start Garden and Seamless that have really pushed the creative culture. It’s been an honor being apart of a community that respects and understands the design/tech culture.

“You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something — your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.” — Steve Jobs

With that, I’m extremely excited to take a life changing opportunity with a great company, HUGE. I’ll be joining the super talented team in Atlanta as the Group UX Director. I’m looking forward to jumping in with the teams and creating something spectacular. More on all that later. ;)

This is not only a big professional change but it’s a big life changing family event. My wife, 3 kids and our dog are packing up and moving to Atlanta! (No more snow for us. — I hope.)

I look forward to being apart of the design community in Atlanta. If you’re in the Atlanta area lets grab coffee.
