Merit Circle collaborates with experienced gaming studio Oh Baby Games
We’re excited to announce our partnership with the innovative gaming studio, Oh Baby Games. They’ve been making a buzz on Twitter with their first game, “What the Kart”, which aims to transform web3 gaming. Merit Circle Ventures, has invested in the Oh Baby Games’ seed round.
What is Oh Baby Games?
Consisting of a wide variety of gaming veterans, Oh Baby Games is a gaming studio with strong ambitions. They are on a mission to disrupt and future-proof the web3 gaming industry through immersive gaming experiences. While the focus remains on the first game, already a suite of games has been announced.
“We have all shipped games before, we’ve shipped games that have failed but also ones that have hit viral success. This raise allows us to move even faster”, says Pas Tran, the founder of Oh Baby Games. The experienced team has worked previously on well-known games including Age of Empires II, Battlefield Franchise, Adventure Pals, Call of Duty Franchise, Crazy Fishing VR, League of Legends, Castle Crashers and Magic The Gathering.
As part of their overarching strategy, Oh Baby Games aims to create cross game collectibles. These assets will unlock powers across multiple games. Acknowledging the current friction of web3 gaming, the studio aims to create a low barrier of entry through multi-login support and easy wallet connectivity.
Concludingly, they’re keen to help other game developers ship their games through supporting libraries and various other tools a developer may need.
What The Kart
The first game coming out of the studio’s oven is “What The Kart” (Alpha sign ups available at www.ohbabygames.com). The game aims to bring another layer to the popular genre of kart racing. Therefore, they’ve collaborated with dozens of influential figures on Twitter, Twitch, YouTube and several notable communities across the industry. To quote Pas Tran;
“The Kart genre hasn’t innovated for decades. Equipment should matter. Custom garages to personalize and show off. Ghost battles against others. Player made bounties. The tracks should tell a story, not just be a continuous 3 lap loop all the time”

Where What The Kart seems exciting based on the first gameclips, it’s nowhere near the final station for Oh Baby Games. Already, they have announced three other titles;
Rug Pull Guys

Baby Wassies
“What is a wassie? It is a small ting that lives in your fridge. It has 14 days to live and is very harmless. Well… its harmless to everyone but its own kind! Wassies just hate each other! Bazookas? Check. Flamethrowers? Check. Combat wombats? Check. With a giant array of weapons, the wassies can ensure their 14 days are even shorter!”
Shogun Curse
