Merit Circle collaborates with gaming studio Roboto Games
We are excited to announce our collaboration with Roboto Games and the launch of their newest project, Foragers and Fighters. This survival crafting game challenges players to explore hostile environments, working together or independently to gather the resources they need to survive.
With their mission of bringing players together through accessible games, we are thrilled to be able to introduce a new genre to blockchain gaming.
As part of the collaboration, Merit Circle Ventures has invested $250,000.
What is Foragers and Fighters?
Foragers and Fighters is the working title for an upcoming survival crafting MMO game built by the veterans at Roboto Games. The game combines the best elements of Minecraft and Animal Crossing, offering players the option to collaborate or compete in a bite-sized and immersive game. With a mix of Free-to-Play and Play-to-Own mechanics, Foragers and Fighters is ideal for both shorter gaming sessions and longer marathons. Made available on PC, mobile and web, it will introduce the genre of survival gameplay to the wider gaming audience.
Currently in the preproduction phase, the team behind Foragers and Fighters are working to deliver a high-quality gaming experience. The studio feels that such a survival game is a perfect fit for the space; as player’s actions are bound only by their creativity, allowing them to craft new items that can be turned into playable in-game NFTs.
Play for fun, not funds
Unlike many other gaming companies that are trying to break into the blockchain industry, Roboto Studios is primarily focused on delivering a playable and engaging experience for gamers. For this reason, the initial release will mainly feature the core gameplay mechanics. As players become accustomed to the gameplay and the community is strengthened, the team will begin introducing optional NFT elements. This ensures that a high level of focus remains on gameplay itself, prioritizing an engaging and fun experience first.
The space has yet to see a survival crafting game like Foragers and Fighters, where players are also given the option to include Web3 elements in their gameplay. In accordance with their mission, the team at Roboto Studios are adamant on making this an addition, rather than its focus. This is even furthered by the development of a user-generated-content platform, allowing the community full-freedom in creating custom in-game content.
