Merit Circle collaborates with multiplayer strategy game Heroes of Mavia

Merit Circle Ventures are excited to announce our collaboration with Heroes of Mavia, a clan-based strategy game powered by NFTs on the Ethereum blockchain. This new play-to-earn game takes inspiration from Clash of Clans and Axie Infinity, and marries them into a fresh, lively experience. As part of our collaboration with Heroes of Mavia, Merit Circle has invested $200,000 in the private sale.

What is Heroes of Mavia?

First of its kind, Heroes of Mavia is an online multiplayer strategy game in which players build and establish bases strong enough to withstand opposing armies. Set on a fantasy-themed island called Mavia, the game is noticeably PvP-centric, having taken inspiration from Clash of Clans, one of the largest games on mobile with over 29 million active users.

Players work as the commanders of their base. Their objective is to grow their army and defend their land from external attacks by enemy commanders. Upgrading their headquarters, deploying decoys, and assembling air defenses are just some of the many ways to strategically lead a base to victory. These actions are completed with in-game resources, Gold, Oil and $RUBY, that are only acquired by battling and beating other players, making Heroes of Mavia a highly competitive and rewarding play-to-earn experience.

What sets Heroes of Mavia apart from other GameFi projects are features such as battle live-streaming and NFT rental mechanisms that are native to Mavia’s interface. Players may also rent or partner with landowners to pave a path to victory together. Additionally, Heroes of Mavia introduces several unique gameplay ideas to the GameFi scene, such as rewarding players for simply defending their base from an attack; profitable gaming even when you’re offline!

Mavia’s explorative in-game assets

Heroes of Mavia offers a wide range of in-game items which are all available as NFTs and thus unique and tradeable. Here, we break down the most important items per category within the world of Mavia!

Bases
Each player begins their journey through Heroes of Mavia with a base, more commonly known as a land plot. Since these bases are the centerpiece of the gameplay (where players battle, build and grow), controlling at least one base is the minimum requirement when entering the world of Heroes of Mavia. Each base is different with a custom name from its owner and unique coordinates on the Mavia island map.

More highlights of Mavia’s bases include the Partnership feature that automatically halves the profit between owner and player. Then there’s the Headquarters that allows players to maximize the potential of their troops and/or buildings, and the Base Explorer, a publicly available tracker where all battles and base activities are permanently recorded.

Heroes
Heroes are simultaneously in charge of defending and attacking in the world of Mavia. Alongside their upgradable attack, defense and speed stats, the ‘Special Attack’ is the main feature of each Hero. These NFTs are limited in quantity, so players may purchase as many Heroes as they want, but will be limited to assigning a maximum of four Heroes per base.

Statues
Statues are robust decorations that boost a base depending on their unique ability. Like Heroes, a base can hold up to four active Statues at a time. Owning one of these rocky ornaments increases the speed and efficiency of a base’s operations such as resource production, cooldown time and more. Statues are advantageous to players passionate about developing and fortifying their bases.

Overview of some in-game characters

Rewarding all

Heroes of Mavia runs on a dual-token economy with tokens $RUBY and $MAVIA. Players can be confident in the strong and balanced play-to-earn model that is both resistant to hyper-inflation and generous in incentives.

$RUBY is the token inside the game that can be used and obtained in a multitude of ways. It can only be created if a player succeeds in their in-game missions such as defending their base or attacking an opponent’s, wagering matches between commanders in Mavia, uncovering hidden items in their base, and more.

Consequently, a player can utilize $RUBY through purchasing resources and skins, upgrading one’s NFTs and speeding up in-game processes. There are only a few ways to mint $RUBY, but there are over a dozen uses for the token to burn and reduce supply.

$MAVIA, on the other hand, is for transactions outside the play-to-earn game. On the Mavia web platform, players can use the token for governance, buying and selling NFTs or staking $MAVIA for returns. Furthermore, Heroes of Mavia offers monetization of bases inside the Mavia land economy; landowners may choose between renting out their bases for a fixed, daily rate or partnering with players for an even, 50/50 split.
