Merit Circle partners with WebGL, triple-A level MMORPG play-to-earn game, Sidus Heroes

Merit Circle is happy to announce a new partnership with the upcoming game, Sidus Heroes. It will be the first ever WebGL, AAA-level, play-to-earn, NFT and MMORPG game and will further serve to bridge the gap between traditional and blockchain gaming. As part of our partnership, Merit Circle invested $100,000 to obtain native SENATE and SIDUS tokens.

What is Sidus Heroes?

Sidus Heroes takes place within the metaverse at a point in time where technological advancements have merged with all living beings. Players and characters will belong to one of a number of different blockchain-inspired races and will have different strengths based on the chain’s attributes.

Players will be able to fight in the Battle Arena, build fighting legions, run for power and represent their race on the political stage, craft and sell products, mine resources or simply travel across the metaverse. There will be no limit to what players can experience or what the team can build.

What is unique about Sidus Heroes, is that the entire game can be accessed through your browser, meaning no downloads are needed. WebGL allows for HD rendering of interactive 3D graphics with no additional plugins or instruments required. Players won’t have to worry about storage space, having to constantly update their gaming client or needing to download the latest version of the mobile app, everything happens in-browser.

Currently, the Sidus Heroes team consists of over 200 full time employees, including blockchain developers who have years of experience building within the DeFi and NFT spaces. Other members also stem from the traditional gaming industry and are helping to apply cutting-edge technologies and multimedia solutions.

NFTs play a vital role within Sidus Heroes as every single in-game item is represented as an NFT. Players will be able to collect these NFTs through mining resources, mastering a profession and crafting goods or by trading them through the in-game marketplace. With a vast number of NFTs on offer, dozens of professionals and supporters have come together to create one of the biggest collaborations in the NFT space.

As well as the in-game NFTs available, players will also hold a unique NFT that stores their profile metadata. By simply entering the game’s URL, players will be able to pick up where they left off by restoring the game from the saved metadata on any device.

The Sidus Heroes genesis NFT collection is already available on the secondary market and will allow players to access a closed beta version of the game from 10th January 2022, with the general public given access from 23rd January 2022. The team will also announce the release of the SIDUS Academy NFT collection, which will serve as tickets to the full game release later in 2022.

The in-game economy is built on the back of two native tokens: SENATE and SIDUS.

SENATE is the governance token that will allow holders to express their political views and influence the development direction of the project. The more SENATE tokens a user holds, the more voting power they will possess. In addition, SENATE will be used to purchase various plots of land, accelerators and consumables, which can be used to play the game more efficiently and productively.

SIDUS is a gaming token that will have a wide variety of uses such as purchasing NFTs within the in-game marketplace. Players will also be able to use SIDUS to make payments for internal services and platform commissions.
