Through all of this nonsense, it’s been unbearably hot: in the 90s most days, with California wildfires raging out of control. It feels like hell in every way.

There are photos circulating of Trump supporters at his rally yesterday wearing shirts that read “I’d rather be Russian than Democrat”.

That just about sums it up.

Me to the Chuck E. Cheese’s birthday party coordinator: What kinds of cakes do you have?

Chuck E Cheese: Is it a boy or girl?

Me: Girl.

Chuck E Cheese: Barbie or Hello Kitty.

Me: What are the boy’s cakes?

Chuck E Cheese: I don’t think she’ll want them.

Me: What are they, though?

Chuck E Cheese: (on speakerphone): Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles or Paw Patrol.

My daughter: (screaming) Paw Patrol!! Paw Patrol!!

Omarosa, one of the very few black members of the white house staff, taped Chief of Staff John F. Kelly firing her in the Situation Room. This is unreal on so many levels.

In other news, today an 11-year-old girl hacked a replica of a Florida state voting website to prove how easy it was.

Today, Trump cancelled his planned $92 million “military parade” that he was planning on having in November.

IMO, he should march that parade straight to Flint, MI to fix their water, then to Puerto Rico to fix their infrastructure.

Today was a big day.

First, Trump’s personal (ex) lawyer Michael Cohen admitted to breaking campaign finance laws at the direction of Trump. He was trying to cover up Trump’s extra-marital affairs, and he paid off porn star Stormy Daniels and Playboy model Karen McDougal with hush money from campaign funds.

Secondly, Michael Cohen, Trump’s former personal attorney, pleaded guilty to eight criminal counts, admitting that “in coordination and at the direction of a candidate for federal office” he kept information that would have been harmful to the candidate and the campaign from becoming public during the 2016 election cycle.

I’m now hearing rumors that Trump will be forced to resign next week. This has been such a long and bitter two years, I can hardly remember what it was like to not be consumed with worry about our future.

I hope the rumors are right. Lordy, I hope they are right.

Whenever somebody implies that I’m overreacting to the Trump presidency, I’m like yeah, I’m one of those “crazy liberals” who feel strongly about Nazis.

Republican Senator John McCain died this week from brain cancer. He was not a fan of Trump. In response, Trump refused to lower the White House flags to half-staff. Democrats and Republicans alike are outraged. Before he died, McCain also explicity requested that Trump not attend his funeral.

This morning a picture from three years ago came up in my Facebook feed that I took of a beautiful marsh that Hendrix and I used to ride by on our weekly bike rides during the summer.

We haven’t taken any of those bike rides this summer because it has been too hot to spend time outside. We haven’t even really use the kiddie pool because it is an unbearable 94° here in New York.

Yet here we are, with an administration that denies global warming. And, all summer it’s been too hot to even go outside.

Me: There’s salmon in the fridge that I defrosted. You can throw it on the grill for you and Hendrix tonight.

Hubby: Nah, I’ll be too tired after working all day.

Me: (blank stare)

Hair Update: The street harassment has almost completely stopped now that I’m mostly grey.

How about that.

Well, here we are at the month’s end, and no resignation. Crap.
