If you’re looking to add something different for your dessert offerings this Thanksgiving, the Mountain Mama Mudslide is the way to go. Friends and family ask for it every year.

The Recipe

For the crust:

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 stick butter

Mix all of the ingredients, and press into a 9x13 pan. Cook at 350 degrees until light golden brown (ovens vary, but it will take less than 10 minutes for most).

Allow the crust to cool completely.

For the filling:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup Cool Whip + 2 cups for topping
  • 8 oz block cream cheese
  • 1 small package instant chocolate pudding
  • 1 small package instant vanilla pudding
  • 2 cups milk (whole or 2%)

Blend the powdered sugar, Cool Whip and cream cheese together. In a separate bowl, mix together the chocolate and vanilla pudding with the milk.

Spread the Cool Whip mixture on top of the crust. Next, spread the pudding mixture on top of the Cool Whip mixture. Finally, top the dessert with 2 cups of Cool Whip. Enjoy as-is or add some chopped pecans or grated chocolate to the top.
