While we announced the delay of our IDO earlier this week, we do have some good news: We’re taking advantage of this time to further develop our platform.
So today, we’re excited to announce that several new features are live!
What Features Are New?
Note: All users should register and verify their accounts. If you’ve already registered, you need to verify your email address. You need to be logged in to have access to the new game mode that we’ll mention a bit later in the article.
1. Spectate Feature
The game now has a feature whereby you can watch the top-rated players’ games. While watching the game of your choice, you can use it to learn from more experienced players and continuously develop your chess skills or just kick back and enjoy.
If you’ve missed your chance to join a game with a player, you’ll also be offered the option to watch the game live.
2. Watch Replay Feature Improvements
We’ve improved the “watch replay” feature. It now works seamlessly and we’ve integrated “next” and “previous” controls into it.
Now, you can watch match tape, as they say, and see what you did well and where you went wrong.
3. Fixed UI/UX Issues
We’ve also addressed some other UI/UX concerns that our community has expressed to us. We’re always grateful for your feedback. Keep providing it to us, and we’ll work to improve our platform.
4. New Game Mode: Treasure Quest
A new game mode has been added: Treasure Quest. It isn’t about chess at all. You get to select any of the characters to play for you. There will be 8 squares on the chessboard that have “treasures” in them. You have 6 attempts to dig. If you dig the squares that have treasures in them, you earn some of those treasures. The owner of the square and the player who discovers the treasure share the revenue from the dig.
5. Player Performance Stats
We’ve added a feature where player performance stats are recorded on the website so you can keep track of them. It’s a leaderboard for the most active users and their ELO rating.
6. Customizable Profile
You can now customize a couple of things in your profile. This includes things like chess board color, “next move” indicator, Treasure Quest sound control, and more.
Explore these features and many more. Do not forget to sign up and verify your account if you already haven’t done that. Only registered users’ stats are recorded.
About MetaChess:
MetaChess is the first 3D multiplayer play-to-earn (P2E) and NFT metaverse chess game. The platform is in 2D and 3D. The 3D version will be divided into two. The first part is the regular chess game, with traditional chess pieces in 3D. The second part is more animated and fancy. It consists of chess pieces in the form of humanoid characters. You can own NFTs (unique chess pieces) which will be used in the game. The platform also has play-to-earn (P2E) models that make it worth players’ time. The 2D version is currently playable. You can either play with AI or play with another user.
